Powerball excitement builds as jackpot resets to $20 million

The Powerball jackpot has reset to $20 million following a recent $143 million win, creating excitement for players ahead of the May 2 drawing. With a cash option of $9 million, many are eagerly purchasing tickets.

Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET. The last jackpot was won on April 29, 2026, with winning tickets sold in Kansas and Indiana.

Key details:

  • The winning numbers for the upcoming drawing are expected to be announced soon.
  • A single Powerball ticket costs $2, with options to add Power Play or Double Play for an additional $1 each.
  • The Power Play multiplier for this drawing is set at 3x.

To win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls in any order along with the red Powerball. However, matching just two numbers won’t yield any winnings unless one of those numbers is the Powerball.

Since its launch in 1992, the Powerball jackpot has been hit nearly 200 times. Each drawing generates anticipation across the 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands where tickets can be purchased.

As we approach May 2, many are wondering what the winning numbers will be. The results for this drawing are still pending, and so are the Powerball Double Play numbers.
