Isack Hadjar Faces Disqualification at Miami Grand Prix

Isack Hadjar is set to be disqualified from the qualifying classification following the Miami Grand Prix. The young driver, who qualified ninth, faces this penalty due to a breach involving his car’s floor.

The floor on Hadjar’s car was found to be protruding 2mm beyond the reference volume, which violates FIA technical regulations. This issue came to light during targeted scrutineering, where Hadjar’s car was one of 13 selected for closer inspection.

Technical delegate Jo Bauer referred the matter to the stewards for consideration. Hadjar’s summons to see the stewards is scheduled for 7am on Sunday morning. The penalty for this technical infringement is likely to be disqualification from the session.

Hadjar described driving on the tricky Miami track as challenging. “It’s a very, very tricky track, very low grip with high track temperature,” he noted. He added, “I just couldn’t put it all together,” reflecting on his struggles during qualifying.

This incident follows a trend of scrutiny within Formula 1 regarding compliance with technical regulations. Teams are under constant pressure to innovate while adhering strictly to guidelines set by governing bodies like the FIA.

The Red Bull Racing team, which has been known for its competitive edge, now faces questions about their setup and compliance. As Formula 1 continues its season, teams are eager to avoid similar pitfalls that could impact their standings in this highly competitive sport.
